aching for snow

Portland hasn't had a good snow since 2009, so I'm really aching to see some.  I'm not talking about the snow that doesn't stick or the kind that does but then melts a few hours later either.  I want to be trapped in my apartment reading books and watching movies.  We had the type of snow that doesn't stick on Monday and multiple days of frosty mornings.  This is Gloria taking the new pup out this morning.  Maybe I should do a snow dance?

Break Time

Life's been pretty busy lately with school and work, if you can consider the above to be work.  I'm half way through this term and of course all the teachers decide it's time for all the tests and assignments. So most of my time lately has been used to study, work on papers, or pretend I'm doing one of the two.  It's always fun to take a break with Gloria and mess around with the camera on my phone.  She loves taking videos of everything, but I love pictures of everything.

walking

Sometimes when life gets too rough all you need is to take a walk.  My advice is take it with a four year old who likes to wear her hair "just like you" and plays the don't step on a crack or you'll break your momma's back game.

Pumpkin Patch

With Fall comes the mandatory trip to the pumpkin patch; and so I took Gloria out to collect pumpkins for the apartment before the weather turned back to the expected rain showers we receive in the northwest.  I seemed more interested in taking the pumpkins home, while Gloria just wanted to take pictures of them and everything else she saw.  I think I've discovered a young photographer.  She obviously isn't a pro yet considering the pictures of me would come out with body parts chopped off.  I just blame the weight of the camera compared to her strength. I think I found a handful of acceptable pumpkins, and I don't think this was my last trip this year.  I really love the pumpkin patch.

soaking up the sun

As summer starts coming to an end I'm doing everything I can to enjoy every bit of sunshine.  Here in the northwest the sun cannot be taken advantage of.  Come fall no one knows how long it will be until the sun comes out again.  I'll be enjoying these last bits of sunshine with one of my favorite girls.

hanging with the girls

My life has been overcome with chalk sessions, trips to the park, barbies, puzzles and board games, and chasing little ones around trying to get them ready for the day. I can already see what my life will be like in about 10 years and it will include crustless sandwiches and straw bowels for cereal.  I'm not complaining.

"You my Hewwo"

After 3 months off from nannying, I have returned to the little girl who calls me Waygen. I missed watching this little one and her 2 sisters so much this summer and I'm glad to be back! Who wouldn't be able to stay away from a child who thinks you're their hewwo, and who is constantly being told "Waygen, I lube you."  Today we spent the day outside sunbathing and talking about scary dreams with wigged witches. I love my job.
