march favorites

This month's favorites all came in a little box from Athropologie (insert praising hands here):
-I got a calligraphy kit in the hopes that maybe I can teach myself a few things.
Interested to see how this goes.
- See San Francisco. Can't wait to flip through this book! I'm trying to hold off because I know I'll want to book a trip shortly after.
-French Girl Organics Rose Lip Polish. Excited to see how well this lip exfoliant works!
-A box wouldn't be complete without a new sweater. Yes, I'm excited for spring; I just love sweaters.

in case it matters

Hello, there!

* March has been a pretty good month for me, after starting it off with talks of a new role at work, which eventually led to a promotion and job title. Hey there, marketing world! I'm coming for you. I am both excited and terrified at the same time. With that, I will be returning to take a few classes on my old school stomping grounds. Crazy, never thought I'd be heading back there. Ever.

* Also, I've planned a trip back to Texas to visit my mom and family in May. Beyond exciting to head to West, Texas for some kolaches. If you're unsure of what that is, it's a pastry from the Czech and Slovak. Get ahold of one (or five)!

* I've been binge watching Gilmore Girls. Please don't judge me. Binge watching is one of my favorite past times, and I love that Gilmore Girls has millions of episodes in one season. It means this phase will continue on for at least 2 weeks. I excel in the art of binge.

* It's Portland Dining Month. I only have one week left to indulge, and I've only been to two places on the list!

* I've seen a little bit of cherry blossoms this season, and hoping I see more. I've noticed the amount of rain that Portland is getting, is washing them all away!

* A short story of a night last weekend: Friday night we were out with friends and as I was talking to a lady I didn't know, she kindly stopped me and told me there was this guy who was "hardcore" checking me out. As I looked up and asked who, she pointed out the guy in the green button up and suit. I smiled and turned back to her and said "he better be, because that's my boyfriend!" Laughter followed, and it made my heart happy! I totally think it's the cutest thing. Thanks, boyfriend.

3.14

Happy Pi Day!
Just like the number Pi, I will choose to celebrate by eating an infinite amount of it. The closest place I could think of next to my work was Petunia's Pies and Pastries, so I headed there for my first piece. I say first piece, because I really may have to find more later; even if it's pizza pie! No discrimination on all food round. Before heading back, I stopped next door at Alder & Co. to grab some flowers. I just love my neighborhood street.

Gorgeous
Such a cute bakery
^Realizing I can fill up an entire table on my solo date.

Mississippi Avenue

It's daylight savings today, and I can't believe I'm surviving. There's just a lot to not like about losing an hour of my precious weekend. Especially since I feel as though I never have enough time in the day already. Now daylight savings in the fall, I like you a lot. I spent my day playing catch up with a friend as we headed down to Mississippi for brunch, and then strolled the avenue.  I need to start doing this more often, as this area has a lot to offer. Hope you are all surviving the time jump, and didn't miss anything because of it!

Tried out Interurban and I am very impressed.

Spring is so close, guys!
Oh my gawd, oh my gawd, oh my gawd.
I need my own room like this.
Succulent obsessed and I'm not sorry.
I've been wearing this cardigan basically every day since I got it. It's from American Eagle!
Hey there, spring.

the churro date that almost didn't happen

This weekend included a churro date at the new 180 Xurros & Xocolata in Portland. Megan discovered the new restaurant and there were obviously no objections to checking it out. However, we just barely made it before closing. Warning to wishful goers, they close at 4 daily!  Lucky for us though, this meant we got the window corner to ourselves.

the gift of getaways

A getaway, even just a twenty four hour one, brings considerable joy to my life. So much, that I recently gave my friend Lindsey one as a birthday present. This way, I'm giving a present to someone else and myself. That is the rule, right? If you give the gift of a giveaway, you're automatically going with. I found a Groupon for the Oregon Garden Resort in Silverton, Oregon and I have to be honest, we didn't see the gardens at all. We did however, discover the fine wine of the Willamette Valley. We made the plan to head down south early in order to pass by a few wineries that are so kindly open through the winter. We got a pleasant surprise discovering a number of antique shops were located around our wine tasting locations, so we strolled into a number of them. On Sunday morning, we headed to breakfast where I experienced the best english muffin I have ever consumed, along with a lavender white chocolate mocha. Amazing. After breakfast, we tried our luck with Silver Falls before heading home, but we were only able to stick around to see one of the many waterfalls in the park. Unfortunately for us, the rain chased us away.
