birthday for the best

This weekend was spent celebrating my beautiful best friend's birthday. We used Friday evening to reminisce with friends and family over pizza and beer then headed over to get our karaoke on (of course). It was a shame to find out the bar we went to didn't have the usual tune, 'Hold On' by Wilson Phillips, which I find absurd...but we settled for Boyz II Men 'I'll Make Love to You'.
I am so happy to have this lady in my life and can't believe it's been almost a decade of friendship.  I remember the first time even hanging out the summer before our sophomore year of high school and jumping on a friend's trampoline together.  It's crazy how fast time flies and how far we've come.  She has been there for the best of times and the worst of times, and has taught me how to be a better person.  She knows me inside and out, and is constantly reminding me of how great our friendship is, and that is why I love her so! Megan Rose, Happy 24th!
And a nice little throwback almost exactly 6 years ago

happy place

Maupin, Or will forever be remembered as my happy place.  There's just something about that moment when I make it to deserted roads and watch my phone service disappear that puts me at ease.  It's a place where your only concerns are which swimsuit to wear, whose turn it is next in Skipbo, what's for dinner, what flavor milkshake to order, and is there enough room for me on the next raft. The three days I get to spend here are days I look forward to all year. So July 2014, I'll be seeing you again, Maupin.

#stephsbeachbachbash

This weekend was spent at the coast in my favorite beach house. What better way to spend celebrating Stephanie's bachelorette party?  I think she had the right idea when getting us all together in this comfy little home to karaoke, dance, and eat for the entire weekend.  I mean, these are all of my favorite things.  We were all a little bummed that the weather wasn't more stormy like we heard it was back at home, but that didn't stop us from layering up and starting a fire. I guess that's how you know we're from the northwest when we're wishing for bad weather in the middle of August.  Now I'm aching for fall attire and debating whether it's too early to start baking pumpkin goodies.

San Francisco Treat

San Francisco was the first stop on our road trip and will forever be one of my favorite cities.  The sites, steep rolling hills, busy city life, and old architecture charm is enough to make a girl want to pack up and relocate.  We drove into the bay and I immediately panicked because I spaced when packing for the expected heat that would linger with us from state to state.  I forgot to take into account the cool temperatures and San Francisco fog that is usually present each time I visit.  I made my wardrobe work though as we hit nearly all the tourist sites we wanted to see.  We started our day by stopping by Tartine Bakery and picking up delicious pastries and coffee then headed down to see the Golden Gate.  After experiencing the bridge from multiple angles we headed to Pier 39 where we made it a must to indulge in clam chowder and fish and chips.  You cannot go to the bay and not experience these things.  Some friends from high school were also in the area so before we headed off to what we refer to as the Italian District, we drove down the famous Lombard Street and admired the beautiful houses the winding site had to offer.

Taking the Next Step

A few weekends ago, Megan and I headed north to Cle Elum,Wa to celebrate our good friend Michelle's bachelorette party. We spent the whole weekend in a beautiful cabin dancing, eating, and reminiscing on our favorite moments with Michelle.  She is such a great girl and I'm so happy for her to take the next step! This was actually my first bachelorette party but I am already headed to another one next weekend.
